This is a comment from an engineer that worked in the La Salle yard in regards to the Greeley Tribune article about the trains blocking roads in La Salle.
"This article doesn’t really do the problem justice, a large portion of the switching is done between 7 and 8 am when the little ones are trying to get to school. This is a major problem for the people of LaSalle and the UP thinks it is a joke! The majority of the people that live in our area won’t see the problem until it is too late! Once the railroad gets it foot in the door it will be too late, again thank you for making the effort and trying to stop them. The fight is not over, please continue to stay on top of them!" |

La Salle has had many problems in the past with UP and their practice of blocking roads. But for the grace of God and our perseverance this could have been us, only worse. We would have had that problem and all the types of pollution (Air, Water, Noise, Light). |
